LOL. Got a @virginmedia Stream box and it refuses to work because apparently I'm "not at home". Assume it's doing something stupid like trying to interrogate my Hub, which is in modem mode so it won't be able to.
Turns out the Hard Reset doesn't actually do a hard reset, so it's still stuck on the same wifi network and with the error state it's in I can't change any settings. So it's basically just a paperweight.
So here's the deal @virginmedia - I need someone technically knowledgeable who can tell me *how* the Stream box makes it's "at home" determination so I can figure out why it thinks I'm not. I'm sure this is Forbidden Knowledge but it would save me trawling through packet dumps.
@nextofficial have these opt-out tick boxes (naughty, should be opt-in) when you sign up, but when you opt out of Email they then surface the green box. Does ticking that box mean I'm opting in or out of Sale Emails? @darkpatterns
